Production Manager

As a result of ongoing investment and product innovation, we are seeking an electronics biased Production Manager to undertake this role with considerable opportunities to make a positive impact on production operations.

 

The Production Manager will be responsible for the day to day management of the Assembly team, for managing and driving the effectiveness and efficiency of the manufacturing operation to Solartron Metrology’s standards, ensuring on time delivery and a focus on exceeding customer expectations. Responsibilities will include the evolution of departmental strategy, fixing goals and objectives, budgetary and resource management and driving forward continuous improvement and lean initiatives to further enhance business performance.

 

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Engineer, with experience of delivering sustainable results in an assembly manufacturing environment. The candidate will be able to demonstrate ability to drive results and will possess a track record of developing and empowering teams and unifying employees. Continuous improvement/lean manufacturing and a working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems is required.

Electronics Engineering Technician / Junior Engineer

 

 

 

 

Solartron are now recruiting for an Electronics Engineering Technician/ Junior Engineer to join the Engineering department.  This person will be responsible for assisting development engineers with the development of electronics products. This will include prototype assembly of pcbs which use SMT, procurement and control of prototype parts, manufacture of test boxes alongside basic fault finding and commissioning.


To perform at the Junior Engineer level, it is necessary to be willing and able to do all of the above in addition there will be opportunities to do some basic design, assist in engineering investigations and develop the role further.

The role requires a highly motivated individual, with previous experience in a similar role. The candidate will have excellent attention to detail and good soldering skills. They will possess a good level of PC literacy with a detailed and thorough approach to tasks alongside the ability to communicate well at all levels.

Finance Administrator

 

Due to retirement within the Finance team, we are looking to recruit a Finance Administrator to join the team at Solartron Metrology.  In this role, the Finance Administrator will ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner. Being responsible for core transaction processing within the department including purchase Ledger, cash books, credit control and sales invoices.

 

The successful candidate should have previous experience of routine transaction processing within an office environment. They will have experience of working towards month end and finance calendar deadlines. They will have the ability and desire to fit in and work within a small team but also be able to work alone. They will posses excellent written and verbal communication skills, have experience of Microsoft Office and be flexible. Experience of Navision ERP would be advantageous.

Principal Production Engineer (Mechanical)

 

Solartron Metrology are recruiting for a Principal Production Engineer (Mechanical), to join the Production Engineering team. The successful candidate will deliver the implementation of sound technical solutions to production teams whilst providing Engineering guidance and forward planning for manufacturing objectives.

 

The successful candidate will have a HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering. A degree in this subject and/or the IOSH Managing safely qualifications would be advantageous. They will have a good understanding of modern manufacturing methods with proven experience in a Mechanical Production Engineering role within a similar environment. They will be innovative with problem solving skills and will possess excellent communication and influencing skills. It is important that the candidate is competent in investigating failure modes of equipment which may involve difficult or restricted access. The successful candidate may be required at short notice to travel on company business.
